Beach Bums

We headed to Southport to visit Doug's parents on July 17th. We hit the beach, went to the fancy new pool twice, went out to dinner, had ice cream and Hannah got to go shopping to pick out her birthday present. A fun and busy few days!

Hannah Turns Five!

We celebrated Hannah turning 5 so many times it made our heads spin! We celebrated the actual birthday day with my parents (see previous post). We had a backyard party for some friends on July 7th. We had a shared pool party with 3 other kids from the neighborhood on July 9th. And to wrap it all up we had a shopping trip and ice cream treat at Doug's parents' house on July 19th. Family Fun Over the 4th!

My parents came to visit over the July 4th holiday and to celebrate Hannah's birthday. We sure packed in the fun while they were here. The kids swam at both the neighborhood pool and in the inflatable pools we'd set up for Hannah's birthday party. We took Hannah to the fireworks at Briar Creek shopping center on July 2nd (Paige and grandma stayed home). Punkin and grandma took Hannah and mommy to see Cars2 one afternoon. Hannah and Paige rode in a 4th of July parade with their friends Danny and Derek at Bond park. Hannah got to decorate her bike in red, white, and blue for the parade. Afterwards both kids took part in a donut eating contest and then we cooled off with snow cones. We had a neighborhood cookout the evening of the 4th and even though it rained we still had a great time by moving the festivities into our garage. On Hannah's birthday we went out for Chinese food (per her request) and ice cream at Kilwins. Plus, she got to sit in her special birthday chair (slipcover by grandma) all day! We had a great visit.
