Countdown to Christmas

We have had such a fun and busy lead-up to Christmas this year. We went to the "Heart of the Holidays" celebration in downtown Cary to make crafts and see the gingerbread house competition. We saw Santa (from a distance) at the Horton's Creek model homes for Baker's annual holiday party. Mommy went to see a production of It's a Wonderful Life at the Cary Arts Center. Cousin Abigail came to visit and the girls donned their Christmas pajamas (courtesy of Darlin). Pullen Park reopened, so we took the kids to the Holiday Express train ride to see the lights and ride the carousel. We hosted a tea party for Hannah and two friends before taking them to the Nutcracker. Most recently, we hosted a Christmas brunch for some friends at our place and the girls both wore their Christmas dresses that mommy made them. Now we are getting ready for Doug's parents to come and spend Christmas at our house. Whew!

An Attitude of Gratitude

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my parents this year. The weather was beautiful and the turkey was delicious! Hannah got to show her grandparents her new school and we all ate lunch in the cafeteria. We had a feast on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. Hannah and grandma made a gingerbread house. We decorated the tree and daddy and Punkin' hung up the outside lights. It was a busy time, but so much fun. We even squeezed in a trip out for Chinese food and the kids both used chopsticks.

Shopping Spree

We went to the outlets a few weeks ago and the girls were pretty good entertaining themselves while Doug and I tried to find some clothes.

Spooky Fun!

Halloween was a whirlwind this year in large part because I attempted to plan a neighborhood pizza party before trick-or-treat. In the end the party had to be canceled due to the weather, but the skies cleared for trick-or-treat, so the kids had a wonderful time. Hannah was a fairy this year and Paige was Elmo (thanks, grandma). Cathie threw her annual Halloween party which was such a treat for the kids. Doug and I went to the neighborhood party dressed as Facebook pages and won "most original costume". Happy Halloween!
