Tricks 'n Treats

We had a great Halloween this year with lots of celebrations. We had a costume party at our friend Cathie's house. Hannah had her annual costume parade at preschool and we had a pizza party in our cul-de-sac before trick-or-treat to raise money for the Food Bank of NC. Here are a few picures from each.

Grandma and Punkin

My parents came to visit in early October. The weather was really spectacular while they were here. We were able to almost finish a huge landscaping project that Doug had cooked up. My mom and Hannah also made cookies, did Halloween crafts, and we all celebrated my dad's 68th birthday by going out for Chinese food. It was a great visit. Grandma even managed to make Hannah a mermaid costume for Halloween which she loved.

Pumpkin Patch

We headed to the pumpkin patch on October 16th with two other families to partake in hayrides, a corn pit, train rides, pony rides, a big slide, swings, mazes, teepees, and of course lots and lots of kettle corn. We also got some pumpkins. The kids had a great time and the weather was beautiful (unlike last year when we froze).

Trip to Bald Head

We took a short trip to Southport to see Doug's parents at the beginning of October and during that visit Mike took us over to Bald Head Island by boat. We rented a golf cart for the day and explored the island, stopping at it's lighthouse and the beach. It was a great adventure. The kids loved the boat rides to and from the island!
