Last Taste of Summer
We visited Mike and Cindi over the long Labor Day weekend for a last taste of summer. We enjoyed the pool, the beach, and some awesome mini-golf. It was a great way to say goodbye to summer.

Lunch Buddies
Hannah's friend Ansley came to have lunch with Hannah at Alston Ridge. They had a lot of fun together and Hannah felt very important showing off her friend to her classmates.

First Day of Preschool
After a long, hot summer, Paige finally started preschool Friday. She is in the Penguins class with Mrs. Medlin and Mrs. K-M. She has a very nice group of kids in her class, including a couple from last year's MMO group. She was excited to get started!

Countdown to Christmas
We have had such a fun and busy lead-up to Christmas this year. We went to the "Heart of the Holidays" celebration in downtown Cary to make crafts and see the gingerbread house competition. We saw Santa (from a distance) at the Horton's Creek model homes for Baker's annual holiday party. Mommy went to see a production of It's a Wonderful Life at the Cary Arts Center. Cousin Abigail came to visit and the girls donned their Christmas pajamas (courtesy of Darlin). Pullen Park reopened, so we took the kids to the Holiday Express train ride to see the lights and ride the carousel. We hosted a tea party for Hannah and two friends before taking them to the Nutcracker. Most recently, we hosted a Christmas brunch for some friends at our place and the girls both wore their Christmas dresses that mommy made them. Now we are getting ready for Doug's parents to come and spend Christmas at our house. Whew!

An Attitude of Gratitude
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my parents this year. The weather was beautiful and the turkey was delicious! Hannah got to show her grandparents her new school and we all ate lunch in the cafeteria. We had a feast on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. Hannah and grandma made a gingerbread house. We decorated the tree and daddy and Punkin' hung up the outside lights. It was a busy time, but so much fun. We even squeezed in a trip out for Chinese food and the kids both used chopsticks.
